Network devices offering good value for money
This American brand impressed us with the simplicity, efficiency and even elegance of its products. Two short ranges are on offer: wifi terminals and switches. Alta Labs also offers its customers an application and cloud management for remote management of its devices. The aim is to offer easy, seamless integration for high-speed installation.
High-performance access points and switches
The AP6 and AP6 PRO access points operate in Wifi6 and offer excellent performance. In fact, after our few tests, we noticed that we had excellent bandwidth, even when moving away from the access point: this is far from always being the case, especially for this price range. Count on up to 3 Gbps for the AP6 and 6.3 Gbps for the AP6 PRO. Note that the access points also have hotspot and Bluetooth functions.
As for the Switches, there are three formats to choose from (S8, S16 and S24, whose ports are shared between standard and PoE+). S16 has two SFP ports, while S24 offers two SFP+ ports with up to 10 Gbps capacity.
Network security
The devices offer security functions for use. Access points, for example, offer multiple password authentication, ensuring different levels of access. They also feature content filtering, to deny access to certain sites and protect the installation and its users. Alta Labs switches are also equipped with advanced security features, such as support for the 802.1X protocol, to protect the network against security threats, and the creation of VLANs.
Easy to use, install and manage
Installation and configuration are child's play: you plug in the device, enter the network key, and the AP6 (or AP6 PRO) does the rest. Virtually plug-and-play, Alta Labs access points can be centrally managed through a single user interface, allowing network administrators to easily configure and monitor multiple access points from a single location. The terminal can be wall-mounted if required, thanks to its convenient and aesthetic design. The switches are easy to manage from the Alta Cloud Management Platform. They also have intuitive features such as status lights for each port.
